Adult and Scholastic Tournament
Location: The MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex, 6500 Grand Ave., West Des Moines, IA 50266. Park in the main parking lot and proceed into the main (north) doors by the flagpole. The tournament will be held in the Overlook room on the second floor.
Entry Fee: Free for all current 1000 GM Chess Academy Students, $25.00 before July 13, 11:00 am, $35.00 thereafter. Adult Section: $35 before July 13, 11:00 am, $45.00 thereafter.
4 Rounds: Round 1: 1:00 pm, Rounds 2 through 4: ASAP
Time Control: G/25; d5
Players will play games as individuals in a Swiss tournament format. Each player will
have 25 minutes to make all their moves.(G/25; d5)
Tie Breaks: 1.Modified Median, 2. Solkoff, 3.Cumulative, 4.Opponent Cumulative, 5.Median,
6.Kashdan 7.Coin Flip.
Prizes: An awards ceremony will take place ASAP after the completion of the final round.
Trophies (Scholastic Section) will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall and 1st U1000, U800, U600, U400, U200,
And Unrated. $300 total prize fund based on 16 paid adult entries. 1st $75, 2nd $45,; U1600, $60 U1400, $60;
Unrated not eligible for Under prizes.
Byes, one ½ point bye allowed must be requested prior to start of round 2 and cannot be changed.
