On International Chess Day, FIDE will make a world record attempt for the most chess games rated in 24 hours. Downriver Chess Club and eight of its most elite and charismatic players will join in that attempt.

Format: Five round, swiss-system, G/10;i5, FIDE rapid-rated tournament. Invite only.

Date: 7/20/24, first round pairs for 1:00 PM. Event ends around 4:00PM.

Venue: Latter Memorial Library, 5120 St Charles in uptown New Orleans. We will be in the dining room area.

Prize fund: $100 to first place, $40 to second, $20 to third ($100 to first, $20 to second if only 8 register)

Eligibility: All players must have a USCF and FIDE ID. If you do not have a FIDE ID, Andrew will acquire one for you. New FIDE players must register or declare their intent to register by 7/13/24.

Capacity: Capacity restricted to first 10 registrants. 

Invitation requirement: All players must be personally invited by Andrew Squitiro. This is a small tournament so that he can get accustomed to FIDE event requirements. 1600+ USCF required.
