Eligibility

This event is open to all Wisconsin residents, former champions and students in WI schools. All entrants must be members of the US Chess Federation. US Chess membership may be purchased at the site. Wisconsin Chess Association membership is included in the entry. Our website address is www.wischess.org.

We are able to keep the entry fees low due to the generosity of our benefactors contributing 44% of the prize fund

Schedule & Time Control

3-day Schedule for Premier and Reserve:

  • Friday, Aug. 16, 6:00 PM
  • Saturday, Aug. 17, 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, Aug. 18, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM
  • Time control all rounds 40/90, SD/30 with 30 sec. increment beginning with move 1.
  • One 1/2-point bye is available in the Premier or Reserve sections in rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4 if requested in advance of the tournament.

 

2-day Schedule for Premier and Reserve:

  • Saturday, Aug. 17, 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
    • Time control for rounds 1 & 2: G/90 with 5 second increment
  • Third round at 6:00 PM Saturday
  • Sunday, Aug. 18, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM
    • Time control for rounds 3-5: 40/90, SD/30 with 30 sec. increment beginning with move 1
  • One 1/2-point bye is available in the Premier or Reserve sections in rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4 if requested in advance of the tournament.

1-day Schedule for Novice: 4-rounds on Saturday, Aug. 17: 10:00, 1:00, 3:30, and 6:00. Time control all rounds: G/60 with 5 second delay.
