♔ TOURNAMENT FORMAT
♙ Public 国际象棋 tournament with five (5) rounds, in format of double round robin (2RR), total games of ten (10). This means each participant plays every other participant twice
♙ This is a United States Chess Federation Rated Tournament open to all scholastic (K-12) grade players. Students will be placed sections by their rating level
♙ Players will be split into groups/sections based on their ratings, from the highest-rated to the lowest-rated
♔ ROUND TIMES
♙ Doors open at 6:00PM
♙ Round one (1) 6:30PM
♙ Rounds following on a rolling schedule
♙ Awards 8:30PM
♙ Expected end time around 9:00PM
♔ SECTIONS
♙ The tournament has four (4) master sections (0000 ↝ 1000), (1000 ↝ 1300), (1300 ↝ 1500), (1500 ↝ Up)
♙ In addition the tournament has one (1) sub section (000 ↝ 400) within the master section (0000 ↝ 1000)
♔ TIME CONTROL
♙ G/5 D2
♙ Each player receives five (5) minutes per game with a two (2) second delay
♔ PRIZES / AWARDS
♙ This tournament has four (4) master sections (0000 ↝ 1000), (1000 ↝ 1300), (1300 ↝ 1500), (1500 ↝ Up) with the addition of one (1) subsection (000 ↝ 400) that resides within the master section (0000 ↝ 1000)
♙ Trophies will be awarded to first (1st), second (2nd) and third (3rd) place top overall performers within each master section. Additionally trophies will be awarded to first (1st), second (2nd) and third (3rd) place top overall performers within the subsection 000 ↝ 400 that resides within the master section (0000 ↝ 1000)
♙ Medals will be awarded to all players who did not place first (1st), second (2nd) and or third (3rd) within their section however did obtain a position!
♔ NOTATION
♙ Chess notation is required on games longer than 15 minutes
♔ REQUIREMENTS
♙ Ages 13 and under
♙ Participants must be members of the US Chess Federation. The United States Chess Federation is the governing body of chess within the US and conducts all rating calculations for chess players
♔ UNITED STATES CHESS FEDERATION (USCF) ID
♙ To see if your child has a USCF ID and or to see what their ID is, you may go to this link here "USCF ID"
♙ If your child does not have a USCF ID we are an affiliate of the USCF thereby bringing forth a more (i feel) streamlined and simplified registration process to which your child will receive thier USCF ID in less than 24 hours via email. ♙ Limited to the first fifty (50) to register. Registration must be completed online ahead of the event before 12:00 midnight on the day of the tournament otherwise there is a late fee
♙ We encourages to register early to secure your spot as registration will close once full

♙ Parents of siblings! While it is required for each child to have a separate email for registration, you can use a Gmail trick called 'plus addressing' to avoid creating multiple accounts. ♙ Touch move, Touch capture, Release
♙ Forfeit time is 5 minutes
♙ AllStar Institute is committed to providing an excellent chess tournament experience for all students/players. To achieve this, we may update event details, including but not limited to sections, time control, round times, and prizes, as the tournament date approaches. We appreciate your understanding
♔ BYES
♙ If a player cannot play in a specific round for a valid reason but would like to still join and or stay in the tournament, they can request a half-point (1/2) bye for one (1) and or two (2) rounds that would be missed
♙ If a player wishes to miss/skip any additional rounds (after the first two (2) half-point (1/2) byes taken) they may request only one (1) zero-point (0) additional bye within this tournament
♙ To request a bye for rounds one (1) and (2) the player must notify the tournament director fifteen (15) minutes prior to the round start time
♙ To request a bye for any rounds after the second (2nd) round the player must notify the tournament director and request before the start of Round one (1) A player may not request a bye for the last round to prevent award manipulation
♔ PLAY UP
♙ Players may not request to play up into a higher section
♔ WITHDRAWAL
