4 Total Sections: based on age and grade: three USCF Rated Sections and 1 Novice unrated section


K-3 Novice 1
Open to players in K-3
This division is for those who are new to tournament chess and are looking to get started with competition. Players should know basic rules of chess including piece movements, check/checkmate and how to play a legal game of chess. Placement trophies to top 5. Everyone else will receive a trophy to mark their achievement for participating in a chess tournament.

4th-6th grade Novice 2
Open to players in 4th - 6th grade
This division is for those who are new to tournament chess and are looking to get started with competition. Players should know basic rules of chess including piece movements, check/checkmate and how to play a legal game of chess. Placement trophies to top 5. Everyone else will receive amedal to mark their achievement for participation.

Open to all K-12 USCF rated players 
 4 rounds, g/25 + 5 seconds

Top 5 players will receive a placement trophy. We will have a team award trophy, for the top team. Maximum of 3 player from each school whose score counts for the team. 

 

 

Tournament Format:

  • All Sections:  Rounds will be paired after every game is completed from the previous round. We give a small grace period to input results into our computer and pair up the sections. 
  • All Sections will have 4 rounds at G 25 with a 5 second delay
  • Pairings based on a player's US Chess Rating and using the "Swiss Pairing System".

Entry Fee: Scholastic Sections (K-12 sections)

  • Early Entry by Monday before tournament: $39

  • Regular Entry day before tournament by 10:00 PM ET: $49

  • Last call entry: by 9:00 AM ET day of tournament: $59

Refund Policy

  • If you cannot make our event, we require 24 hour notice before the event begins to qualify for a refund

  • Refunds will be issued in form of the entry refund less the charges we incur for processing the registration which is ~$5
