This is an officially rated US Chess tournament organized by the Mississippi Chess Association and run in coordination with the host site.  US Chess membership is required and membership is available at uschess.org. Out of state players are welcome.

 

Entry Fee: $20 by 8 PM the day before, $30 after.

All chess equipment will be provided. 

 

All players are required to take manual notation using scoresheets. Scoresheets are available at the tournament.

 

This Swiss System tournament for all ages has one section.

 

Schedule:  4 Rounds no elimination.  All rounds will be played 30 minutes for each player with a 5 second increment.

 

Round Times:  10:45 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:15 PM, may accelerate as possible. Players will be allowed a minimum 10 minute rest break between rounds.

 

Cash prizes based on 80% of entries.

 

One half-point bye only is available and must be requested before the start of the tournament. No half-point byes available for round 4.
