- Date: Saturday, January 25th 2024
- Time: 5pm to finish (9pmish)
- Place: Growler Kapahulu, 449 Kapahulu Ave #105, Honolulu, HI 96815
- Age Range: Tournament is open to players 18 years of age or older on January 25th.
- Max Entries: Due to space constraints, we will cap participation at 40 players for this event
- Swiss Pairing System: 5-rounds, Swiss pairing system, non-elimination
- Time Control: Game in 5 minutes with a 2-second increment. (Clocks and chess sets provided at the event.)
- Chess Notation: Notation will not be required
- Individual Prizes: $100 for First Place, $75 for Second, $25 for third
- Tie Breaks: For players with the same score, head to head or difficulty of pairings will determine placing
- Byes: Any player may have up to two, ½-point byes, if requested before start of event.
- SCHEDULE:
- 4pm - 5pm Check in
- 445pm Mandatory players meeting
- If you are not present by 455pm, your space may be given to another player who is standing by!!!
- 5pm Round 1
- Rounds 2 - 5 and a short break, to be announced
Entry Fees :
- $20 entry fee per player
- $25 on-site registration from 4pm-5pm (space permitting)
US Chess Federation Membership (not required):
- Not required for this tournament, but highly recommended
