Eligibility

This event is open to all Wisconsin residents, former champions and students in WI schools. All entrants must be members of the US Chess Federation. US Chess membership may be purchased at the site. Wisconsin Chess Association membership is included in the entry. Our website address is www.wischess.org.

Schedule & Time Control

3-day Schedule for Premier and Reserve:

• Friday, Aug. 22nd, 6:00 PM
• Saturday, Aug. 23rd, 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Sunday, Aug. 24th, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM
• Time control all rounds G/90+30inc, increment beginning with move 1.
• One 1/2-point bye is available in the Premier or Reserve sections in rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4 if requested in advance of the tournament.

2-day Schedule for Premier and Reserve:

• Saturday, Aug. 23rd, 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM
  • Time control for rounds 1 & 2: G/60 with 5 second delay
• Time control for rounds 3-5: G/90+30inc, increment beginning with move 1.
• Third round at 4:00 PM Saturday Aug. 23rd
• Sunday, Aug. 24th, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM
• One 1/2-point bye is available in the Premier or Reserve sections in rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4 if requested in advance of the tournament.

1-day Schedule for Novice: 4-rounds on Saturday, Aug. 23rd: 10:00, 1:00, 3:30, and 6:00. Time control all rounds: G/60 with 5 second delay.

**Different Location** Held at Growth Chess Center 974 Sun Prairie, WI 53590 (less than 10 minutes from State Champion site)

  • Free Entry to Players Rated 2200+ if committed before August 1st
    • $50 deducted from any prize.

Refund Policy: If you register for the tournament and are unable to make it, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of the start of round one. If this is done, then Growth Chess will refund your entry fee less $5 for admin fees.
