PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE USING KING REGISTRATION. BY USING KING REGISTRATION, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS, INCLUDING ANY ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES AND FUTURE MODIFICATIONS. IF AT ANY TIME YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, PLEASE DISCONTINUE USE OF THIS SITE IMMEDIATELY.
In the registration forms King Registration may collect any of the following information: name, address, phone, email, and birthdate as necessary for the correct entry and operation of the event. Birthdate is only used as verification for entry for events that restrict entry by age. Collected information is only provided to the tournament organizers for any events that you have registered. This information will never be sold or otherwise given to others or outside third parties except as required by law. Individual organizers may have their own privacy policy. Please contact the individual tournament organizer for their privacy policy if you need further information.
Organizers may send emails or mailed items to those who have entered their events in conjunction with the event. They may also send marketing material related to future chess related events and tournaments for their organization. King Registration may send promotional emails for chess related events and tournaments for its own events and on behalf of other organizers upon request. When sent on behalf of another organizer, contact information is not provided to the organizer unless that player has entered one of the organizer's events.
King Registration supports Stripe and PayPal for transaction processing. The tournament organizer has the choice of which system to use. Credit cards will be processed using the selected system chosen by the organizer. The organizer may change their selection of payment processor at any time.
For more information on PayPal see https://www.paypal.com. See the PayPal acceptable use policy for more information on PayPal's policies, terms, and conditions.
All payments include a nominal transaction fee that covers the platform fee and applicable credit card charges. This fee is included in the price of the entry. An organizer may elect to outline the transaction fee in its event description, but is not required to do so. The transaction fee may be listed separately in the checkout, but it is usually combined as part of the displayed entry fee.
The refund policy is determined by each individual tournament organizer. Any specific or unusual refund information will be provided in the tournament description. Please contact the individual tournament organizer or use the Contact form to request specific or more information. In general, refunds are granted as long as they are requested prior to the first round of the tournament. Some organizers may elect to impose a deadline date for refund requests or elect to reduce the refund by a handling charge. King Registration does request the organizer to post this information in its listing if this is the case.
Refunds, if applicable, are issued by the organizer responsible for the tournament. Monies collected for entry are sent directly to the organizer and are not held by King Registration. As a result, only the organizer may issue a refund.
Whether the event is an in-person event or an online event, players are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and adhere to the rules of chess as used by the tournament. If the tournament or section is FIDE rated, then the FIDE laws of chess are used. Otherwise, the US Chess rules of chess are in force for events held within the United States. A specific tournament may have its own rules or modifications in addition to the standard rules. Major changes to the standard rules must be posted in the tournament publicity for that event. See the event description for any specific notices related to that event.
By entering an in-person tournament, you acknowledge that the event organizers may photograph participants for limited use in their own publicity or news. They may not sell photographs or use a players likeness without specific permission from the player or the player's parents in the case of minors. Online events may require the use of one or more cameras connected to a meeting platform, such as Zoom, in order for the participant to be eligible for prizes or participate in the event.
King Registration is only the listing platform and registration system for the events. The events listed are maintained and run by individual and separate organizers. Unless a particular event is specifically held by King Registration, the event organizer alone is responsible for the conduct and handling of their event. In the case that an event is cancelled, it is the organizer's responsibility to notify and refund all participants as necessary.
A specific event or organizer may have their own terms and conditions that are particular to their events. These should be specified or a link provided in the event description page. For more detail about their terms, please contact the organizer of the event.
